Meet Kiwi, the Yellow-Nape Amazon.
Born in July, she should be weaned. She is now five month's old and has decided
hand feeding isn't such a bad thing. She decided to keep the syringe and (maybe)
learn to feed herself? Amazon's are extremely intelligent. At the rate Kiwi is
going, she should begin asking us to be handfed (rather than jumping off her
perch, walking across the room and tugging on our clothing as she does now).
Abundance weaning is the rule here, and Kiwi is milking it for all it's worth! |
